What can a skeleton reveal about who someone was and why would a community bury a person as a “vampire”? In this Festival of Archaeology workshop, step into the world of bioarchaeology, the science of uncovering past lives through human remains.

Death and Burial in Bronze Age Clitheroe

In 2018, a Bronze Age burial site was discovered on the outskirts of Clitheroe. The cremation urns are currently on display at Clitheroe Castle Museum, offering a rare opportunity to reflect on early Bronze Age burial practices.
