A Halloween Tale of Clitheroe’s Wells.

The first public performance of the mystery story, song and video will be performed on Halloween at the Heald Well just outside the Dog & Partridge pub in Clitheroe. All in aid of the Clitheroe Town Wells Conservation Campaign.


Long ago, before pipes and valves, the land around Clyderhow was watched over by three ancient spirits - guardians of the sacred springs. They were known not by name, but by their service: The Healer, The Watcher, and The Rememberer.


Death and Burial in Bronze Age Clitheroe

30 June - 31 October

In 2018, a Bronze Age burial site was discovered on the outskirts of Clitheroe. The cremation urns are currently on display at Clitheroe Castle Museum, offering a rare opportunity to reflect on early Bronze Age burial practices.
