Clitheroe's Easter Eggstravaganza!

Start: 10:00

End: 16:00

Join us on the Castle grounds for all the Easter fun on Saturday 19th April.

For just £5 per child you can collect an Easter trail map from the Glitterball Events starting station. The trail map will lead you around the castle grounds where you will hunt for egg-related props. Bring the answers to all the clues back to the starting point and Glitterball Events will exchange it for a sweet treat prize.

There will also be an egg rolling competition at 12pm and 2pm.

Death and Burial in Bronze Age Clitheroe

30 June - 31 October

In 2018, a Bronze Age burial site was discovered on the outskirts of Clitheroe. The cremation urns are currently on display at Clitheroe Castle Museum, offering a rare opportunity to reflect on early Bronze Age burial practices.

What can a skeleton reveal about who someone was and why would a community bury a person as a “vampire”? In this Festival of Archaeology workshop, step into the world of bioarchaeology, the science of uncovering past lives through human remains.

As part of the Festival of Archaeology join Dr Rick Peterson from the University of Lancashire for a pottery workshop and find out how this new material would have had a radical effect on how people lived their lives.

SeekOut Festival will return in 2026 to Gisburn Forest, offering a curated micro-festival experience limited to fewer than 500 people. The event features live music, interactive art, theatre, wellbeing experiences, and creative activities for all ages.
