March winner of Shop Clitheroe

The March winner of Shop Clitheroe is Mrs S Driver from Clitheroe a retired Bursar at Rishton Methodist School. Originally from Grindleton, Mrs Driver moved to Clitheroe when she married Steven and they subsequently went on to have 3 sons. Now grown up her sons have given the Driver’s 4 grandchildren and in retirement as well as spending time with her family, Mrs Driver enjoys Gardening, knitting and reading. On being told that she had won £50 worth of vouchers to spend in Shop Clitheroe businesses Mrs Driver said “ That’s great, I’ve just back from my holiday and the vouchers will be really handy.”

Unfortunately, events rather overtook things and currently the Shop Clitheroe scheme is paused, awaiting a time when businesses in Clitheroe can get back to trading again. All completed cards should be retained until further notice, but will be entered into the next draw which will be held as soon as possible after the current Covid 19 crisis.

President of Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Owen Phillips commented “The most important thing right now is that everyone stays safe and follows the Government policy. This will enable all of us to get through the emergency as safely and as quickly as possible. When business resumes the Chamber of Trade and the Shop Clitheroe initiative will be vital to the well being of Clitheroe town as a retail centre. I would urge everyone to support local shops and businesses upon the resumption of trade to retain local jobs and a vibrant Clitheroe.”
