Come and celebrate the Hetirage Open Weekend in Clitheroe on 8th - 11th September:

  • Town Centre Heritage Trail
  • Meet the Town Crier on Sunday 11th
  • FREE Entry to Clitheore Castle Museum all weekend
  • Meet Percy the Pig at Low Moor Club
  • It's Behind You at Low Moor Club

There are several events planned throughtout the weekend including:

Thurs 8th – Sun 11th - Town Centre Trail
Wth pictures and information on show to provide answers to the trail questions in shops and other place, starting at Clitheroe Castle and including Moor Lane, Castle Street, Market Place, King St, and Wellgate. Pick up your trail leaflet at Clitheroe Castle or Participating Shops and hand completed froms into the Castle Museum or Clitheroe Library by 4pm Monday 12th September to enter the prize draw for £30 of Shop Clitheroe Vouvhers.

Thurs 8th – Sun 11th
Visit the Bowland Beer Hall at Holmes Mill, Greenacre St, BB7 1EB to see the historic mill engine and information about its role. Open 11 am – 11 pm Thurs-Sat, 12 noon - 8 pm Sunday.

Fri 9th - Open Day at St Mary Magdalene’s
Bring your picnic to eat in church or in the churchyard if it is fine, take our self-guided Thoughtful Tour, have a go at the architectural and historical quiz and more activities. 11 am – 4 pm at St. Mary  Magdalene's Church, Church Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 2DD. 

Sat 10th and Sun 11th - Free admission to Clitheroe Castle Museum
11 am – 4 pm. Children can enter  a competition museum hunt for the chance to be the lucky winner of a goodie bag.

Sat 10th - Young people from the Clitheroe Youth Forum will be in Victorian costume around the town.

Fri 9th and Sat 10th: It’s Behind You! Remembering 40 Years of Panto at Trinity 1964-2004
An exhibition of props and costumes, video clips, photos and memories with song and dance performance by Treasure Seekers. Friday 6pm - 7pm and Saturday 11 am – 3 pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Wesleyan Row, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 2JY.

Sat 10th - Explore the history of Low Moor and meet Percy the Low Moor Pig
In Low Moor Community Heritage Group’s exhibition of photographs and memories, at Low Moor Reading Room & Club, St. Pauls Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 2LS Between 11 am – 3 pm. Learn about Low Moor Mill and discover how Low Moor has changed in a guided walk around the village.

Sun 11 Sept - Clitheroe's Town Crier Roland Hailwood will be in residence
From 2 -4 pm at the Town Hall, 9 Church St, Clitheroe BB7 2DD on Sunday afternoon, with photos and memorabilia of more than 30 years of crying, tales of broadcasting the news down the centuries - and a challenge: can you 'Oyez' louder than our Town Crier?
