Cycling brings its own rewards!

Sue with her bicycle collecting her vouchers from Richard Paige of Green Jersey, Taylor St.

The lucky winner of Shop Clitheroe loyalty card draw, run by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and promoted by The Clitheroe Advertiser & Times, this month is Sue Heslop of Clitheroe. A mum to three teenage children, Sue works part time as a Science Technician at St Mary’s Hall, Stonyhurst and when not working or caring for her family she enjoys running and cycling, which is appropriate as she arrived on her bicycle at the Green Jersey cycle store and café on Shawbridge Street to collect her vouchers. A regular at Green Jersey Sue said “I am delighted to have won £50 and look forward to spending my vouchers in Clitheroe, I’ve had a card for 3 or 4 years now and use it regularly as I think it is a good way to reward people for shopping locally. I bought some panniers for my bike and regularly cycle in from the edge of town to do my shopping in Clitheroe to avoid the hassle of parking.”

Richard Paige of Green Jersey, Taylor Street commented “Shop Clitheroe card is great for building loyalty with the customers at our existing store and café and with our new cycle workshop opening on North Street, where we will be able to cater for Family, Children’s, Leisure and Mountain bike users the cards’ popularity will increase. At North Street we will have a family friendly facility where we can develop our range of services for customers who use bikes as a leisure pursuit. If anyone feels overwhelmed by technical jargon or is unsure of what type of bike they need, they will be able to speak directly to the cycle mechanics, who can solve any bike related problems.”

Shop Clitheroe cards are available at nearly 80 participating members of the scheme where you see the purple Castle logo displayed and are free to all users, with a draw held each month and extra prizes at Christmas, so make sure you have got yours before you start your Christmas shopping.
