Shop Clitheroe Winner June 2016

Our picture shows Jack presenting Jean with her vouchers in the butcher's shop on King Street.

The latest winner of £50 worth of vouchers in the Shop Clitheroe competition run by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade & Commerce is Mrs Jean Bentley.

Clitheroe born and bred, Jean is married to David and they have a son and daughter, and three grandsons who next year will help them celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

Before retiring Jean worked at the Trutex factory called Foulsykes Mill on Brown Street and has been very active in the Cub Scout movement for over 42 years, a hobby that continues as she now leads a Cub Scout pack in Waddington.

When told of her winnings Jean said “I am over the moon, as a local girl I have always supported Clitheroe traders and I continue to do most of my shopping in the town. The Shop Clitheroe card is easy to use and I would recommend it to everyone.”

Presenting Jean with her vouchers Jack Thistlethwaite who has worked at Brendan Anderton butchers on King Street for 3 years said, “We joined the Shop Clitheroe scheme as soon as we opened in Clitheroe and most of our regulars use their card with us when buying their meat, savouries, burgers, kebabs, marinated steaks and chicken, and oven ready products. With both cooked and cured meats we have something for everyone and the loyalty card rewards our customers.”
